DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA – On Thursday May 6, 2020 at 7:20pm Durham Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1000 Block of Liberty Street. Witnesses said as a Little League baseball game was going on they heard 10+ gunshots. Durham Police confirm a man and woman were shot in the roadway near the baseball field. Both victims were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Shell casings covered the street. Durham Police taped off Liberty Street and the parking lot to the baseball field as two crime scenes. No children were hit by the gunfire. Parents and spectators of the game were unable to leave the parking lot adjacent to the shooting due to it being part of the crime scene.
