Early Monday morning October 15, 2018 the driver of a mini van led San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies on a 40 minute pursuit. The pursuit started in Chino Hills around midnight when a Deputy attempted to make contact with the male occupant of the van in a parking lot. The man jumped in the drivers seat and fled. According authorities, the suspect rammed at least one unit causing moderate damage. The pursuit ended in the 300 block of Grant Street in Redlands when the man pulled into the driveway of a home. Deputies were able to quickly take the man into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported and it’s unclear why the man fled. Deputies originally believed the man may have been under the influence however, he reportedly passed a field sobriety test. No further details were immediately available.
