6.13.20 | Video by Adam Balhetchet | BED STUY, Brooklyn (DCPI) – On Saturday, June 13, at approximately 2340 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle collision in the vicinity of Fulton Street and Lewis Avenue within the confines of the 81st Precinct. Preliminary investigation reveals a 34-year-old female was operating an ambulance traveling westbound on Fulton Street when it collided with an unidentified male in the vicinity of Fulton Street and Lewis Avenue. EMS transported the victim to Interfaith Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation remains ongoing by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad. The identification of the deceased pedestrian is pending proper family notification.

Sources have told LoudlabsNYC: “The ambulance was responding to a 911 call. They ran over an individual lying in the street. They did not see him and kept going. They then got reassigned from their original call to go to the pedestrian they struck unknowingly. The victim was a homeless man lying in the street.”
