APPLE VALLEY – Tense moments late Wednesday night in Apple Valley as smoke began to fill hallways and a number of rooms at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Apple Valley Fire received the call around 11:30 PM from St. Mary’s Medical Center reporting the incident. Arriving units found smoke evident inside the building including a pharmacy. Victorville Fire was requested for mutual aid and a multi alarm commercial fire was declared. After an investigation it was found that a motor unit on the roof of the hospital had caught fire and was forcing the smoke into the building. No evacuations were seen and no one was believed to be injured in the incident. Apple Valley Fire is conducting the investigation.
