MANHATTAN – 5 steam pipe explosions on 21 and 22 street caused FDNY to transmit 3 alarms. Multiple buildings were searched and evacuated. OEM was dispatched. Multiple streets were closed off to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Subways and buses were affected. 13 Precinct conducted crowd control. There was a possible asbestos risk from the steam. No one was injured in the incident.
