JURUPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – On Tuesday night December 15, 2020, the California Highway Patrol along with Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire responded to multiple reports of a crash involving a wrong way driver. The crash was reported around 10:44pm on the westbound 60 Freeway, just west of Valley Way in the community of Rubidoux. The first arriving California Highway Patrol officer reported two vehicles in the center divider and several other vehicles on the right shoulder. The occupant inside a small red sedan needed to be extricated from the vehicle. According to a California Highway Patrol incident log, a small sedan made a u-turn on the freeway before colliding head-on with a second vehicle. The occupant inside the red sedan were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition. Officers at the scene declined to comment however, some reports indicated the Scion XB was traveling the wrong way and other reports indicated the red sedan was the wrong way driver. The crash is under investigation.
