CERRITOS, CALIFORNIA – CHP officers created a break to stop traffic and give LACOFD firefighters a clear path to a major traffic collision on the 605 freeway at South St. The vehicles involved in the accident were blocking several lanes and one vehicle was engulfed in flames. Unfortunately a young female driver, said to be in her early twenties, succumbed to her injuries. CHP officers are investigating the incident and do think she may have been driving at the legal speed limit at the time of the incident. CHP officers would like to remind drivers to slow down and pay attention to the roads, especially in the rain. The vehicles were towed to police garages to be used as evidence. It is not known how many patients there were in total.
