WESTLAKE: Short Pursuit

One man is in custody after leading police on a brief pursuit in the Westake District early Friday morning. Police began following the possible stolen SUV around Alvarado and Wilshire around 2:50 AM. When officers were about to pull over the driver, he took off before abandoning the SUV along the on-ramp off the Southbound 110 Freeway and 11th Street. The man was later taken into custody.
