VICTORVILLE: SWAT Barricade

A pursuit termination led to a SWAT standoff Wednesday night in Victorville. When SBSO deputies spotted a possible stolen car they attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield and led deputies into a residential area. The pursuit ended when the suspect collided into a home in the 12600 block of Santa Fe Trail. The suspect fled the car into the house. It is not know whether he knew the people in the home. The suspect refused to come out and SBSO SWAT was called. The suspect finally exited the home around 7:40 PM and was taken into custody without incident.
On Wednesday evening, January 15, 2020, deputies responded to the area of Amargosa Road and La Mesa Road following information of a stolen vehicle in that area. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended after the suspect collided into a home. The driver foot bailed out of the vehicle and was barricaded inside a home in the 12600 block of Santa Fe Trail. PA announcements were made, he communicated with deputies, surrendered and was taken into custody after the short standoff.
