VENICE: Woman, 73, dies in House Fire

At 4:39Am authorities responded to 909 S 4th Ave for a report of a structure fire. First units on scene reported seeing smoke from the rear of the structure. Once inside they battled the flames and knocked down the fire in 34 minutes. During the firefight, crews discovered and rescued one unconscious adult female who was transported to the hospital. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital. LAFD arson units are responding.
