Late Tuesday a crash occurred just north of the intersection of Vanowen St and Sepulveda Blvd. A white van going southbound hit a male pedestrian. It was initially reported to be a hit-and-run but authorities later determined that the white van remained on the scene. The driver of the white van underwent a field sobriety test but he was not taken into custody. Witnesses reported seeing another vehicle speed away from the scene but it is unclear what relation that vehicle has to this accident if any. The victim was initially thought to have died at the scene but emergency crews were able to find a weak pulse. Chest compressions were continuing to be performed on the victim as he was being transported to a hospital.
