VAN NUYS: Liquor Store Shooting

Around 2350, LAPD responded to reports of a shooting at the Liquor store on Vanowen and Fulton. Arriving LAPD officers found a mute man, who had been shot in the back. The victim was able to walk to a nearby Taco Truck to get help. Officers tended to the victims wounds until LAFD arrived. The man was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in unknown condition. LAPD taped off a large area for evidence collection. A shell casing was found in the parking lot of the liquor store. It appears the shooting happened in front of the liquor store. Per LAPD radio traffic, the suspects were approximately 10 people in hoodies, who fled into the Tujunga Wash. LAPD officers with the help of a helicopter, searched for the suspects, but were unable to locate them. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. LAPD Van Nuys Division is handling the investigation.
