Valley Village: HIT AND RUN CAR INTO HYDRANT AND POWER POLE

Late Thursday LAFD responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run traffic accident. Upon arrival, authorities found a car had hit a fire hydrant and a power pole and ended up on top of another parked car. A geyser of water can be seen shooting 100 ft in the air due to the impact with a hydrant. Per scanner traffic, a suspect was seen leaving the seen, unknown with vehicle that suspect was in. The impact with the power pole caused live power lines to fall across magnolia blvd. The live lines caused a small fire in the grass in front of apartments. The crashed apparently caused a power outage in the area. Lights were out as far as Laurel Canyon blvd and Ventura Blvd. Unknown if the entire outage is related. As of this writing the live lines have not been shut off and the geyser is still shooting water into the air.
