COVINA, CALIFORNIA – California Highway Patrol Baldwin Park Station was in pursuit of a black Tesla Model 3 for high speeds. The pursuit went northbound Azusa Ave from the 10 freeway. CHP stopped pursuing the vehicle due to unsafe speeds. Officer came upon a debris field a short time later. The suspect had made a right hand turn and continued eastbound on Workman St where he hit speeds of over 90 mph hitting a bump at S Hollenbeck Ave and crashing into a house. The driver left on foot and left a female passenger inside the vehicle. The female passenger was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition. The suspect is still outstanding. CHP along with Covina PD had a perimeter set up and were searching for the suspect. California Highway Patrol along and Covina PD searched for the suspect for two hours, the search was called off after two hours and the suspect got away. The crash not only hit a house, it crashed into two cars parked in the driveway and a cat parked in the garage. The crash was so hard it knocked out the sidewall of the the home/garage. The house was red-tagged and all inside are and were accounted for.
