SYLMAR: Bear Hit & Killed on 210 Freeway

*Time* – 2324 *Location* – EB210 @ Yarnell, Sylmar *Handling Agencies* – LAFD, CHP Newhall
At approximately 2324, LAFD and CHP responded to reports of a car that had struck a bear on the 210 freeway. Arriving units found a black sedan that had struck a bear on the freeway in the middle lanes. The party in the vehicle was evaluated by LAFD, but is unknown if they were transported to the hospital. Animal Control was called out for the deceased bear which was in the center divider. The bear appears to be a younger small brown bear. The bear was possibly trying to cross the freeway to the mountain side on the WB side of the freeway. All lanes were of the 210 were temporarily blocked off.
