SAN BERNARDINO – Thursday May 7th 2020, around 10:30pm, CHP Officers observed a forklift being stolen from a construction area. Officers attempted to stop the forklift, however, the driver had different plans. The driver failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued on city streets for several minutes. The forklift came to a stop, and intentionally rammed a highway patrol vehicle. The forklift driver bailed out on foot, and jumped a fence to a nearby school. The suspect was eventually located on a rooftop, and was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported. The forklift pursuit reached speeds of 15mph.
