STATEN ISLAND: Lady Killed by Hit & Run Driver

4.20.19 | Video by Adam Balhetchet | STATEN ISLAND (DCPI) – On Saturday, April 20, 2019, at approximately 2229 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Bradley Ave and Purdy Ave in the confines of the 121st Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 89-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive with head trauma and injuries to the body. EMS arrived and transported the female to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. A preliminary investigation by NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad determined the pedestrian was crossing Bradley Ave, east to west, in the crosswalk when she was struck by an unidentified operator of a dark-colored sedan traveling northbound on Bradley Ave. The operator continued northbound on Bradley Ave and fled the scene.
