CAJON PASS, CALIFORNIA – On Tuesday March 9th, at 1:18 AM first responders were dispatched to a reported traffic collision on the northbound 15 Freeway north of Kenwood. On arrival firefighters located a older model Ford Explorer SUV under the back of a semi-truck trailer on fire with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and started to work on extricating the driver from the vehicle. The driver was suffering from major injuries and an airship was requested. After an hour of extrication, the driver was removed from the vehicle. Mercy Air landed on the freeway and transported the victim to a local trauma center. The condition of the driver is unknown. CHP is investigating the crash. No other information was available on the scene.
