ONTARIO CA – Ontario PD were responding to reports of a shooting near Chevron gas station off of S Haven Ave and the 60 fwy and a Park on Riverside Dr. Ontario Officers located a vehicle traveling northbound on Haven Ave and then westbound on Mission Boulevard at high speeds. Ontario officers received an update regarding that vehicle was used in possible shooting and the man inside might be shot. The vehicle stopped on E Mission Blvd just west of Haven Ave and the suspect barricaded himself inside the vehicle. Ontario PD requested SWAT. The family members received a phone call from the suspect and showed up at the scene. Ontario PD made several attempts to call the suspect out of the vehicle. After about 45 minutes to an hour the suspect eventually gave up and surrendered to officers. The suspect was checked out by firefighters and paramedics and transported to a local hospital. Unknown at this time what let up to the shooting and where exactly it took place. Ontario PD will be handling the investigation into the shooting.
