Shooting & Interview With Mall Goers | PINEVILLE, NC 5.1.21

PINEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA – Pineville Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting inside Carolina Place Mall. Due to the nature of the incident and type of building multiple law enforcement agencies responded including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mint Hill Police Department, and Mecklenburg County Sheriff Office. Officers arrived and began setting up a perimeter and searching the mall floor by floor. Police found one victim near the entrance to the food court suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and two gunshot wounds to each arm. Mecklenburg EMS transported the victim with life threatening injuries to the trauma center at Atrium Carolinas Medical Center. Police sources said they were looking for two suspects. A mother told us she was searching for her daughters inside Forever 21 after they heard multiple gunshots. The mother and daughters barricaded themselves inside a backroom of Victoria Secrets. Pineville Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
