Sheared Hydrant Floods Backyard | POMONA, CA 2.11.21

POMOMA, CALIFORNIA – Pomona PD and Los Angeles County FD responded to a traffic collision with a vehicle striking a fire hydrant at 1918 Paseo La Paz and N Fairplex Dr. Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene they located a fire hydrant that was shooting water 50 feet in the air and starting to flood a backyard of a residence. The Los Angeles County Fire Department requested another engine to assist them with a water push and a water pump. A resident at the house said only a little bit of water made it inside the house but most of the water damage was done to the backyard and the pool. Firefighters had a hard time shutting off the water and had to wait on city workers to respond and assist them in shutting off the water.
