SAN BERNARDINO On Thursday June 14th, at 11:39am, San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to reports of a Vegetation Fire near 2505 W Atchison St. Upon arrival, fire crews found an active fire in a field, along the railroad tracks near Rialto Ave, and Aitchison St. The field runs along the railroad tracks, and is next to a group of homes. Fire crews immediately began an aggressive attack to stop the fire from reaching the homes. Train traffic was suspended for a period of time. At this time, fire crews have taken control of the fire, and no damage to homes have been reported. The fire is believed to be under one acre in size, and at this point, is knocked down. The Battalion Chief on scene was unavailable for comment at this time.
