SAN BERNARDINO On Friday evening, June 15th, sometime after 8pm, San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies responded to reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision in the 7200 block of Sterling Ave. Upon arrival, first responders found a male victim in the roadway. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Allegedly, the driver that hit the pedestrian, fled the the scene without stopping, or rendering medical aid. According to a witness who does not want to be identified, reported that a person who witnessed the collision chased down the suspect. According to a Sergeant on scene, he confirmed that this was a fatal hit & run, and that there is a suspect in custody. The coroner arrived and conducted their portion of the investigation, and removed the body. At 3:40am all units have cleared the scene, and the roadway is back open to normal traffic.
