ROCKLEIGH, New Jersey — An initial call for a lost hiker in the heavily wooded area of the Jersey Palisades, opposite the Hudson River from Manhattan and the Bronx, was transmitted at 10:50 PM, Saturday evening, January 5, 2019. Less than 30 minutes later, the lost hiker was in fact four teenage boys who were lost in the area of Rockleigh, NJ. Searchers from neighboring Alpine Township located the missing teens about one hour after they were reported missing. None of the teens suffered any injuries, but one firefighter was injured in the search and evacuated to Pascack Valley Medical Center.
