Robbery at Knifepoint / Queens

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the individual seen in the attached surveillance video in connection to a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 114 Precinct. Details are as follows:

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at approximately 0400 hours, the 60-year-old male victim went to the deli located at 38-02 31 Street. Standing outside of the location was another individual who approached the victim and a verbal dispute began over if the establishment was open. The dispute escalated and the individual pulled out a knife. The victim attempted to defend himself by using a stick as the individual began to slash the victim in the head and arm. During the course of the assault the individual forcibly removed the victim’s slippers from his feet. The individual fled from the location to parts unknown. The victim sustained non-life threatening slash wounds to his right wrist and face and was removed via EMS to Mount Sinai Hospital Queens for treatment.

The individual is described as male with a medium complexion, approximately 5’8″ tall, with a slim build, facial hair and last seen wearing dark colored jeans and a light colored t-shirt. He spoke with a West Indian accent.
