RIVERSIDE: Hit & Run Driver Vs Parked Car & Hydrant

On Sunday night October 28, 2018 the City of Riverside Fire Department along with the Riverside Police Department and AMR responded to reports of a traffic collision in the La Sierra area. The crash was reported around 9:00pm on Hole Avenue at Bingham Avenue. The first arriving engine company located a pick up truck which had struck a parked car and sheared a fire hydrant. The sheared hydrant sent water shooting roughly 40 feet into the air. The driver of the pick up truck fled the scene on foot before Firefighters and Police could arrive. No other injuries were reported and Firefighters had the hydrant shut off within 30 minutes. The crash remains under investigation by the Riverside Police Department.
