HIGH DESERT – According to CHP radio traffic an attempted traffic stop led to a failure to yield pursuit with shots fired at officers late Tuesday night in the High Desert. The incident was reported shortly after 9:00 PM in or near Barstow. It is unclear if the initial incident involved the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Police or SB Sheriff but the CHP reported that shots were fired at officers and that the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on the I-15. A pursuit was engaged and the suspect vehicle reportedly crashed on the Wild Wash Road offramp. One suspect was detained but a second suspect fled into the desert.
