PERRIS: Two Shot During Family Dispute

Early Saturday morning June 30, 2018 the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a family disturbance with shots fired in the unincorporated area of Lake Matthews. According to Deputy Flores with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Media Information Bureau, shortly after midnight Deputies from the Perris station responded to the 17000 block of Cajon Drive for an assault with a deadly weapon. When Deputies arrived they located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. A third victim, who had a gun brandished at them, was not injured. It appears a third person, possibly the suspect, suffered minor injuries as a result of a struggle. All three were transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. It’s unclear what led up to the family disturbance and it’s also unclear how the victims and suspect are related. Per Deputy Flores, there is not threat to the public as Deputies believe all persons involved are being questioned. Cajon Drive is expected to remain closed for several hours while Investigators conduct their investigation.
