1.5.21 / Video by Joseph Cassano / SUFFOLK COUNTY, Long Island (SCPD) – At approximately 9:30 p.m Tuesday, January 5, 2021 on Bay Shore Road, near the intersection of Washington Avenue, Deer Park. Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Deer Park last night. Richard Prezzano was driving a 2004 Nissan Sentra westbound on Bay Shore Road, when the vehicle struck an adult male in the roadway, near the intersection of Washington Avenue, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with critical injuries. Prezzano, 19, of West Islip was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The unidentified man who was injured in the motor vehicle crash on Bay Shore Road in Deer Park on January 5 died from his injuries on January 6.
