Parked Semi Gets Smashed By Cement Truck | FONTANA, CALIFORNIA 2.4.21

FONTANA, CALIFORNIA – CHP received reports of an overturned tanker overturned on the Southbound 15 freeway just before Summit. When officers arrived at the scene they located a semi-trailer with major damage to the rear section and an overturned tanker trailer the was transporting approximately 79,000 lbs of powdered cement. The overturned tanker was blocking all lanes of the southbound side. CHP set up a flair pattern to keep traffic moving as heavy-duty tow trucks were headed to clean up the accident. The driver of the parked semi-truck said that she had to stop on the side because her brakes were overheating due to driving down the Cajon Pass and was parked on the side for about 3 minutes when she felt the crash wand was thrown against her steering wheel. Remarkably, no injuries were reported. It’s unknown why the driver of the cement tanker crashed in the parked semi-truck. No other information was provided.
