COVINA, CALIFORNIA – Once CHP officers and firefighters arrived on scene they located a van that rear ended a box truck at high speeds trapping the passenger inside the vehicle. CHP officers from Baldwin Park station stayed by the passenger’s side to keep him calm until firefighters arrived on scene. Firefighters used the jaws of life to get the victim out of the vehicle and transported to Pomona Valley Hospital. The driver of the box truck remained at the scene. CHP had three lanes open at this time.
