Norwalk: Hydrant Hit and Run

At 11:15 pm LASO received multiple calls regarding an SUV that crashed into a fire hydrant on Maidstone Ave in Norwalk. LACO Fire responded to shut off the hydrant and to check for any injured parties but the SUV fled the scene prior to the Sheriff and Fire department arriving. Witnesses at the scene described the SUV as a blue in color, Chevy Suburban type vehicle and gave Deputies at the scene the license plate to the Chevy. Deputies quickly put the information out and were able to locate the Suburban a few blocks away from where the crime occurred. Two males were detained and the Suburban was towed from the parking lot they were hiding in.
