BROOKLYN: Man & Woman Shot in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS, Brooklyn – Police say two people have been shot Saturday afternoon on Fenimore Street in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Authorities said a 20-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 53-year-old woman was shot in the torso at around 4:30 p.m. They were transported to a nearby hospital. The woman, known as “Molly” was the “mother of the neighborhood,” witness Aaron Gordon, 27, said, who claimed he is “distraught,” by the entire incident. Gordon’s friend, Jason Toussaint, 23, said each of the victims was “a close friend of mine.”

“It’s embarrassing because two innocents got shot for no apparent reason,” Toussaint said. “It doesn’t make any sense,” he added. Earl, the super of the building, said he is very familiar with both victims, adding he thought it was firecrackers, not weapons being shot. One man, who refused to give his name, said the alleged suspects were “two young black men wearing shorts.” The man said he saw them running after the shooting. Both victims are in stable condition. Police are currently searching for the two suspects.
