BRONX: 6 Hurt in Fire

1.11.2020 | by Adam Balhetchet | FORDHAM, Bronx – Six people were hospitalized after a fire broke out at an apartment building. It happened at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 2175 Ryer Ave. That is when firefighters, upon arrival, found flames on the 3rd floor. Many families including children had to evacuate the building. 12 FDNY units totaling 60 firefighters were on the scene at this fire. The fire was placed under control at 2:30 am. Five people suffered minor injuries and one was in serious condition. All six were transported to an area hospital. News12 reported six adults and four children were displaced and assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is being investigated by fire marshalls.
