FAIRMOUNT, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY – A woman was fatally shot while visiting a friend. This happened on Wednesday night, December 30, 2020 at around 2217 hours on 121 South 8th street in Fairmount, Newark. The woman did not survive her wounds and was pronounced deceased at a nearby area hospital. The victim was a mother of a 17 year old according to nearby residents who knew her. The woman was known to be a positive influence on the community in the area, often helping others with donations. The investigation is still ongoing.
