MORENO VALLEY: Bounty Hunter Fatally Shot At Hotel

On Tuesday night, December 03, 2019, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department along with Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire and multiple AMR ambulances responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at the Hotel XOLA Trademark Collection By Wyndham, in the 24600 block of Sunnymead Blvd. Details surrounding the incident are limited as the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was only able confirm that deputies did respond to the location for an assault with a deadly weapon call. The Sheriff’s Department wasn’t able to confirm if the incident was a shooting or if there were any victims as a result of the incident. A Riverside Transit Agency bus was requested to the scene to help keep all evacuated hotel guests out of the rain and cold. We are working to confirm social media reports that bounty hunters with US Fugitive Service were at the hotel to apprehend a wanted fugitive. Social media posts also indicate the fugitive shot three people, killing one and fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla. While we did observe USFS Agents at the scene, we have been unable to get the Sheriff’s Department to confirm any details other then they respond to the location for an assualt with a deadly weapon. No further details were immediately available.UPDATE: The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Wednesday afternoon,  suspect, Chad Green, fatally shot James Black, a bounty hunter, who was at the Hotel to apprehend Green. Green is considered armed and dangerous.
