Mead Valley: Driver Shot

Late Wednesday night September 05, 2018 the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department along with Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire and AMR responded to a report of a driver who had been shot. According to Deputy Flores with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Media Information Bureau, around 11:00pm Deputies responded to the area of Barton Street and Nandina Avenue for a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. When Deputies arrived they located an adult male driver of a pick-up truck suffering from a gunshot wound. According to Deputy Flores, the driver stopped in the area of Nandina Avenue and Barton Street to pick up hitchhikers when he was shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. At least one bullet hole struck the front windshield of the pick-up truck. The suspects fled the scene and no suspect information was immediately available. Deputies were conducting a search of the area for the suspects.
