UPPER EAST SIDE, A motorcyclist is dead after t-boning an NYPD ESU truck. This happened at 10:40 pm Monday at East 96 St & Park Ave within the confines of the 19 Precinct. The motorcyclist was removed with CPR being administered. NYPD CIS requested to investigate.

On Monday, October 15, 2018, at approximately 2230 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of East 96th Street and Park Avenue, within the confines of the 19th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old male motorcycle operator lying on the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma about the body. EMS responded to the location and transported the motorcyclist to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. EMS also transported his 32-year-old female passenger to New York Cornell Medical Center in stable condition. Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the motorcyclist, operating a 2015 TRI motorcycle, was traveling southbound on Park Avenue, approaching the East 96th Street intersection, at the same time a NYPD ESU Truck #2 (Ford F-550) vehicle was traveling eastbound on East 96th Street with lights and sirens approaching the Park Avenue intersection. The motorcyclist struck the driver’s side portion of the ESU vehicle, causing the operator and passenger to become ejected from the motorcycle and come to a rest on the roadway.
