MANHATTAN: Harlem Man Barricaded

HARLEM, Manhattan – NYPD responded at 8:20 PM, Wednesday evening, December 5, 2018, to a call of a man barricaded in his fifth-floor Harlem apartment and throwing to the street and on parked cars below the contents of his apartment. NYPD ESU units were on scene to extricate the subject from the apartment, with members of the Hostage Negotiation Team and the NYPD Tactical Unit, taking the lead in defusing the tense situation. ESU inflated in front of 2184 Frederick Douglas Boulevard at East 118 Street a large cushion, in the event the subject leapt from his apartment window. The subject, a black male in his twenties, was removed without incident from the apartment, strapped to a stretcher with a mask over his face, and transported by FDNY EMS to Mount Sinai Hospital | Video Journalist: Christopher Cyphers
