MANHATTAN: Arsonist Arrested for Fire at Hotel Chandler

5.4.19 | by Adam Balhetchet | MIDTOWN, Manhattan – A female was arrested by FDNY Fire Marshall for setting a fire at Hotel Chandler. It happened around 2 am Saturday at Hotel Chandler located at 12 East 31st St. According to a witness, 24-year-old Raegine Peterson was arguing with her boyfriend, smoking weed, and a trash fire was started. Firefighters and police rushed to the scene, extinguished the fire, and arrested the Raegine. An emotional male was restrained by NYPD, put in an ambulance, and transported to a hospital for treatment.
DCPI: According to the complaint report on file: On Saturday, May 4, 2019, at approximately 0134 hours officers and FDNY responded to a 911 call of a fire at 18 East 31 Street. FDNY fire marshal deemed the fire to have been started intentionally and placed the responsible individual under arrest. The following person was arrested in regard: Raegine Peterson, 24-year-old female Charges: Arson and Reckless Endangerment.
