5.9.19 | Video by Adam Balhetchet | WEST VILLAGE, Manhattan (DCPI) – On Thursday, May 9, 2019, at approximately 0132 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 200 Varick Street, within the confines of the 1 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest and a gunshot wound to the abdomen. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. A canvass of the area by officers yielded a second victim, a 29-year-old male, discovered near the corner of Hudson and Spring Streets, with a gunshot wound to the left upper thigh. EMS also transported this victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
