MANHATTAN: 2-Alarm Fire Injures Firefighters

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan – Around 9:30 pm, Thursday, a fire broke out at 601 West 180th St, within the confines of the 34th Precinct. The fire was on the 3rd floor. Extra engine and truck were requested. All hands were transmitted. 2nd alarm transmitted at 9:40 pm. Reports of ladder bucket needed to rescue handicapped person. The fire extended to the second floor. Two more additional trucks were requested. The fire was under control around 9:45 pm. Two firefighters were treated by EMS for minor injuries in an ambulance and MERV. The red cross was on scene spoke to residents and handed out blankets. Cute dogs made it out safely.
