Man Trapped In Donation Box | LOMITA, CA 6.21.21

LOMITA, CALIFORNIA – Los Angeles County Firefighters and Sheriff’s Deputies arrived to a call of a person trapped at the intersection of PCH and Cypress St in the city of Lomita. Upon arrival they located a man in a Red Cross donation box screaming for help. The man fell inside the steel box while “checking out the freebies” and was trapped due to one of his legs getting caught in the drop box door. LASD Deputies advised him that the donation items inside the locked bin weren’t free and they cut him a break and didn’t file any charges on the man. The LASD and LACOFD would like to remind people to avoid the dangers of looking inside these types of donation boxes, especially during this heatwave.
