Tree Crashes Into Home **RESCUE** Caught On Camera | TACOMA, WA 1.13.20

TACOMA, WASHINGTON – Just before 12:45 a.m., Tacoma Fire was dispatched to the 6000 block of South Mason Avenue for reported tree into a residential structure. When the first engine arrived, they found the home with extensive damage to the back right side. Upon further investigation, a large tree destroyed a quarter of the home before snapping in half, striking a vehicle and blocking the road. While checking the structure crews located a resident trapped by the tree in a bedroom near the impact zone.
Crews upgraded the call to a technical rescue and began working to free the trapped resident.It took crews about 30 minutes to free the individual before they were carried out in the arms of a firefighter.
That individual was awake and talking while being loaded into a medic rig.
They were transported to an area trauma center in unknown condition.
