Suspicious 400 Acre Wildfire | NJ Forest, NJ 5.27.21

On Monday Night May 17, 2021 a fire burned out of control in Southern New Jersey burning 400 Acres. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service was battling the large fire near inside the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest off 4 Mile Road. Due to the rapid spread of fire a large mutual response was requested. The NJ Forest Fire Service responded with additional fire pumpers to the scene. Pemberton Fire Department also responded sending 3 engines and 1 tanker for structure protection. As of late Monday the fire was 75% contained with no structures damaged. Residents were being asked to stay away from the area as firefighters continued to contain the fire. Fire officials confirm an Arson Investigation has been launched as the fire is deemed suspicious,
