Suspects Steals ATM Leads Police On “Chase” | WEST COVINA – AZUSA, CA 3.21.21

WEST COVINA – AZUSA, CALIFORNIA – West Covina PD along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department air unit responded to a burglary at the Chase ATM drive-through at 455 N Azusa Ave and E Rowland Ave. The suspect used a stolen stake bed truck to pull the ATM from the ground. The suspect led PD on a pursuit while dragging the ATM through residential areas, with some of the parts breaking off and hitting parked vehicles. The main part of the ATM broke off and hit two vehicles. The suspect dumped the stake bed truck and jumped into another Chevy pick up truck where a second suspect was waiting for him in the residential area just north of where the Chase Bank is. The suspects in the second vehicle led West Covina PD on a pursuit where they crashed into a business at Gladstone St and S Duggan Ave in the city of Azusa. Azusa PD and Irwindale Pd Assisted West Covina PD with the search. West Covina PD was able to take one suspect into custody, he was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The second suspect ran into a commercial business area and was taken into custody about an hour later with the assistant of West Covina PD canine unit. The suspect was bit by a West Covina canine unit. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene to check out the suspect but the suspect refused treatment.
