SAN BERNARDINO – On Monday afternoon, August 24, 2020, at 3:48 PM San Bernardino County Firefighters were dispatched to reports of a traffic collision on Lower Waterman Canyon. Units arrived in the area and requested help from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit to help fly over and pinpoint the vehicle. Sheriff’s air unit, 40King1, reported a vehicle deep in the brush at the base of the canyon. Firefighters hiked down the canyon to reach the vehicle, when gaining access to the vehicle, it appeared abandoned. Firefighters relayed the vehicles make and model along with the license plate number to the San Bernardino Police Department. The vehicle and individual of the vehicle had been reported missing. Details surrounding the missing person weren’t immediately available. Officers requested Firefighters canvass the area for the missing person. Upon searching for the individual, firefighters found the body and confirmed the person was deceased. Further Information will be released at a later time via a San Bernardino Police Press Release.
