POMONA – Pomona PD along with Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with one person trapped at W Grand Ave and S Buena Vista Ave. Pomona Officers were the first on scene of the traffic accident and noticed a female that was out of the vehicle sitting on the sidewalk and a male driver halfway out of the vehicle. The officers checked his pulse and then pulled him away from the vehicle and started chest compressions on the victim. Firefighters arrived on scene and transported the male driver to Pomona Valley Hospital in critical condition. The female passenger was also transported to Pomona Valley Hospital with minor injuries. A witness stated that he heard the crash and it sounded like a loud bang. The witness then ran outside to the vehicle and pulled the driver out of the vehicle and that’s when officers arrived on scene. The vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle sending it about 20 feet down the street and hitting a light pole knocking that down as well.
