BUEANA PARK, CALIFORNIA – Just after 6:30 pm a Buena Park Police motorcycle officer initiated a traffic stop on the westbound 91 freeway just west of Brookhurst St. The driver of the vehicle put the car in reverse to ram the officer and an officer involved shooting occurred. It was unknown why the traffic stop was initiated, but the suspect fled the scene in a white 4 door sedan northbound on the 5 freeway. The officer was struck by the suspect’s car and was transported in stable condition to an area hospital. CHP is asking anyone with information to call the Westminster CHP office.
