MORENO VALLEY: Driver Slams Into Strip Mall

Late Saturday night March 02, 2019 Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire along withe AMR and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a vehicle into a business. The collision was reported around 11:30pm in a strip mall in the 22600 block of Alessandro Blvd. The first arriving engine company reported a single vehicle into a vacant business. According to one witness, he was preparing donuts for Sunday morning when he heard a loud bang and thought it was an earthquake. He stepped outside and saw a lady stumbling from the business next door. He was in complete shock when he saw her car sitting inside the business. Another witness at the scene said he saw the lady exit from the car and start to walk away. The witness says she hid in nearby bushes until a car pulled up and attempted to pick her up but they were stopped by Sheriff Deputies. The woman was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with unknown injuries. Her keys were located in the bushes where she was hiding. The damage to the vacant business was extensive and Deputies are working to determine if speed and or alcohol were factors in the crash.
